Disguise and camouflage... How did the “Brotherhood” get around the British extremism list?

 Experts in Islamic groups are not very optimistic that Britain's decision to include the terrorist Brotherhood on the extremist list will be a deterrent to the group, which exists in the country with names and slogans that "hide its true identity."

A number of these experts present to Sky News Arabia the precautions taken by the Brotherhood in Britain, over the past years, to protect itself from similar decisions, including infiltrating British institutions.

London placed the Brotherhood at the top of the list of extremism, according to the criteria of the new government definition of extremism.

The new definition states that extremism “is the promotion or reinforcement of an ideology based on violence, hatred or intolerance, which aims to destroy fundamental rights and freedoms, undermine or replace Britain’s liberal parliamentary democracy, or deliberately create an environment for others to achieve those results.”

The definition aims to combat what British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak described as a “poison” to democracy, warning of a “shocking increase in extremist unrest and criminality, threatening the country’s transition to mob rule.”

London defined extremism as “overt or actual opposition to our core values,” such as mutual respect and tolerance, a definition that allowed the group to establish its presence in Britain.

The Minister for Local Communities, Michael Gove, announced that organizations such as the Muslim League in Britain, which is the British branch of the Brotherhood, and other groups such as Cage and MEND, raise concerns about their trends and pose a threat to democracy.

The new definition of extremism is supposed to blacklist the organizations concerned and deprive them of public funds.

The decision coincided with the increase in violence directed against Muslims and Jews against the backdrop of the ongoing war in the Gaza Strip.
